Wekweètì
POPULATION: 142

Wekweètì ("rock lakes") is a traditional Tlicho community overlooking the Snare River. The community is part of the Tlicho Land Claim and Self-Government Agreement, which provides the Tlicho communities control over their collective resources. Wekweètì is the smallest Tlicho community, and a majority of residents are fluent in Tlicho language. Community services and rotational employment at the diamond mines are significant sources of family income. A large proportion of the residents supplement their groceries with food gathered by hunting and fishing.

A series of dams and powerhouses on the Snare River provide hydro power to Yellowknife and Behchoko. The newest dam is owned by the Dogrib Power Corporation, owned in turn by the Tlicho government. Air Tindi provides scheduled air service from Yellowknife and other Tlicho communities.

Alexis Arrowmaker School provides K-9 education, and there is a health centre and accommodation.
